September 2020 Newsletter

September 23, 2020
Last month, TerraCurrent wanted to size up the challenges and opportunities that virtual conferencing brings to every clean energy company. The goal was to run an event, crowdsource ideas, see what works best, and distill the results down to some actionable advice for you. Joined by an all-star cast of brand leaders for a focused, one-hour discussion, the event generated far more ideas than we could share in a single blog post. So we wrote two posts. See what we learned. And contact us for ideas about your next virtual event.

Brand building first

Before, during, and after the Clean Energy Events Roundtable, we kept coming back to a recurring theme. No matter what your goals may be—building awareness for your brand, generating revenue through sales, improving the customer experience, or something else—stronger brands will have more success with virtual events. Your brand identity and the clarity of your messaging will resonate with customer personas. A familiar visual identity and voice across communication channels will improve engagement. Setting goals is the first step. Then comes delivering value day after day.

Who We’re Together With

24 experienced leaders and innovators in solar events

For some roundtable participants, like Courtney Nagle at WTWH Media, the publisher of Solar Power World, virtual events mean taking an existing lineup of live educational, exhibition and networking programs, bringing them online and continuing to help participants realize their goals. For Andrea Johnson, who works on energy and water access in remote villages, going virtual means creating a new experience altogether, a digital tour of solar-powered water pumping systems in Bolivia. We were honored to also speak with leaders at Origis Services, SMA, Pegasus Solar, Canadian Solar, and Solar.com, among other brands.
